Metric Halo MBEQ (Digitálny produkt)

Make Believe MBEQ — A Workflow-First Equalizer Plugin

The Make Believe MBEQ is a virtual EQ plugin designed for producers and mix engineers who want to make decisions quickly without sacrificing precision. Built around quick-key shortcuts, a frequency-finder mode, and a dedicated notch filter, the plugin lets users grab any band, locate a problem frequency, and pull it down without losing their position. A single iLok license covers all supported platforms and includes two activations.

At its core, the plugin behaves like a modern take on Metric Halo's Channel Strip when running clean, then opens up a second personality through the "Sauce" control — a State Space Model Extraction of Make Believe's rare 1960s PYE TVT console, originally built for the BBC, including its transformers and discrete amplifiers. With Sauce on, the EQ takes on a big British 60's tone, and driving the input fader pushes the model from subtle color all the way to fuzz.

What Makes This Plugin Stand Out

The Sauce control is the headline feature: it transforms the EQ from a corrective tool into a creative one, adding truly dynamic console-style distortion. A built-in training wheel teaches the quick-key shortcuts, while the MH Preset Manager keeps settings portable across Mac and Windows sessions. The integrated SpectraFoo analyzer shows instantaneous and average traces, and the live readout displays the frequency, musical note and gain at the mouse position.

Who This EQ Is Built For

The MBEQ is the right choice for home studio producers, mixing engineers, and beatmakers working in any major DAW who need a fast, intuitive equalizer that doubles as a tone-shaping tool. It suits anyone tracking guitars, bass, drums, vocals, or full mixes who wants both surgical notching and creative saturation from a single insert. Beginners benefit from the training wheel and preset library, while experienced mixers get the speed of quick-key workflow and the character of a modeled British preamp in one window.
