Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition

A pure, powerful bass guitar library designed for floor-crumbling, core-shaking soundscapes. This library features a killer, flexible DI tone sourced from a Music Man Sterling, making it ideal for rock, metal, jazz, disco, electronica, and pop genres.

Overview

In response to the success of our Shreddage guitar libraries, we received numerous requests for a bass library in a similar style. Initially, we considered creating a straightforward bass instrument focused solely on rock and metal. However, we aimed to exceed our initial vision and develop a truly powerful and versatile virtual instrument.

Thus, Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition was created. Like the original Shreddage library, we recorded everything clean (DI) to provide users with maximum tone-crafting flexibility. The samples can be effectively used with various amp and cabinet simulators, but they also sound fantastic without any processing, which was a key design goal. Our experience with many bass libraries revealed that they often struggled to fit well in a mix, so we designed our instrument to integrate seamlessly with minimal EQ and processing.

We hope you enjoy Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition and find it useful in a wide range of musical productions. We genuinely believe it’s our best sample library to date!

Interface

As with all our sample libraries, Shreddage Bass: Picked Edition includes a comprehensive set of articulations, round robins (RRs), and velocity layers. This library features 8x RRs (4x down and 4x up strokes), 3x velocity layers, open and muted notes, staccato notes, neck slides, and true hammer-on and pull-off samples with an accompanying script.

We prioritized making the instrument highly playable and intuitive. The modwheel, sustain pedal, and other MIDI CCs are not required, and there are no keyswitches. We believe that this level of usability is essential for any composer!
