Gretsch Drums Renegade 22 Blue Sparkle Drumkit

Complete 5-Piece Drum Kit with Poplar Shells and Blue Sparkle Finish

The Gretsch Drums Renegade 22" Blue Sparkle is a full-size, all-in-one acoustic drum kit designed for players who want a complete setup straight out of the box. Built around a 22" bass drum and wrapped in a vivid blue sparkle finish, this Renegade Series configuration delivers the classic Gretsch aesthetic with chrome shell hardware and triple-flanged hoops. Poplar shells give the kit a warm, resonant character that works across rock, pop, and studio applications. Every essential component ships in the box, including cymbals, hardware, and drumsticks, so the player can move from unboxing to playing in a single session.

All-In-One Package with Hardware, Cymbals, and Sticks Included

What sets the Renegade apart from typical starter kits is the completeness of the package. The kit ships with a 13" hi-hat pair, a 15" crash/ride cymbal, a kick drum pedal, hi-hat stand, snare stand, straight cymbal stand, drum throne, and a pair of drumsticks. Classic Gretsch lugs and the iconic Gretsch logo on the bass drumhead reinforce the brand identity. The triple-flanged steel hoops keep the tuning response open and musical.

Shell Construction and Drum Sizes — Warm Poplar Tone

Poplar is a tonewood prized for its warm, balanced voice with a slightly rounded low end and clear midrange attack, making it a smart choice for an entry-to-intermediate kit that needs to cover multiple styles. The Renegade's shell configuration gives the player a versatile spread of voices without overwhelming smaller rooms or practice spaces.

• Shell Material: Poplar — warm, resonant tonewood suited to rock, pop, and studio playing
• Bass Drum: 22" x 16" — full-size kick with deep fundamental and projection for live and rehearsal use
• Rack Toms: 10" x 7" and 12" x 8" — compact tom voices that sit well in the mix and respond quickly to ghost notes

Snare and Floor Tom — Punchy, Articulate Voices

The snare and floor tom round out the kit's tonal range. A 14" x 5" snare is the most common modern snare depth, offering a balance of body and crack that works for backbeats, cross-stick work, and rimshots. The 16" x 14" floor tom adds low-end weight and a sustained note that fills out tom fills and transitions.

• Snare Drum: 14" x 5" — versatile snare depth for rock, pop, and studio applications
• Floor Tom: 16" x 14" — deep floor tom voice for sustained low-end tom fills
• Hoops: Triple-flanged steel hoops — open, musical tuning response across all drums

Included Hardware and Cymbals — Ready to Play Out of the Box

Every Renegade kit ships with the hardware and cymbals needed to start playing immediately. The cymbal pack covers the two most essential voices in a drum kit, while the hardware set supports a comfortable seated playing position and stable cymbal placement.

• Hi-Hat: 13" — tight, articulate closed-hat voice for timekeeping and accents
• Crash/Ride: 15" — dual-purpose cymbal for crash accents and ride patterns
• Hardware Set: Kick pedal, hi-hat stand, snare stand, straight cymbal stand, drum throne — full setup support included

Who Is It For — Beginners, Intermediates, and Returning Drummers

Players starting their first kit will find everything they need in one box, while returning drummers looking for a stylish backup or practice setup will appreciate the poplar warmth and Gretsch aesthetic. The 22" bass drum configuration suits rock, pop, and contemporary styles, and the included cymbal pack covers the core rhythmic vocabulary without requiring immediate upgrades.

Gretsch Drums — Heritage Since 1883

Gretsch Drums was founded in 1883 in the Brooklyn borough of New York and has been delivering "That Great Gretsch Sound" to drummers for over 140 years. The company has been responsible for numerous developments that have shaped modern drum kit construction, and its drums have appeared on stages and recordings across jazz, rock, and pop. The Renegade Series brings that heritage into an accessible, all-in-one package for players who want the Gretsch name and aesthetic without the price tag of a USA Custom kit.
