D'Addario PL010-5 Plain Steel Single String for Electric Guitar

The D'Addario PL010-5 is a five-pack of .010" plain steel single strings built for electric guitar players who want a reliable spare high-E on hand at all times. Each string is precision-formed from high-carbon steel using a round-wound, uncoated construction that produces the bright, clear, articulate tone plain treble strings are known for. Because the pack contains five individual replacement strings rather than a full six-string set, players can keep spares in their gig bag for instant swaps when a string snaps mid-song, or mix and match gauges to assemble a custom set tailored to their playing feel. The strings are compatible with electric, acoustic, resophonic, and high-strung guitars, making them a versatile addition to any player's accessory drawer. All D'Addario strings are designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA at the company's New York production facility.

Who It's For

The PL010-5 five-pack is the right choice for electric guitar players who frequently break their high-E string and want a ready supply of replacements without buying a full set every time. Gigging musicians, touring players, and teachers running back-to-back lessons will appreciate having five spares tucked into a gig bag at all times. Players who like to experiment with custom string gauges — for example, pairing a lighter .010 high-E with heavier lower strings for a balanced feel — can use these singles to dial in their ideal tension and response. The plain steel, uncoated construction suits genres that demand bright, snappy treble character, including rock, blues, country, and pop. Because the strings also fit acoustic, resophonic, and high-strung guitars, multi-instrumentalists can stock one pack that covers several instruments in their collection.
